It’s looking ever more wintery as we enter winter proper this weekend and the days start getting longer again. It’s also the start of the Christmas/New Year fortnight, of course, one of the busiest of the ski season, so all resorts want to be fully open.
The good news is it’s looking pretty good to very good almost everywhere. There’s been more snow in the Alps, Pyrenees, Scandinavia and even Scotland where all five centres have opened at least limited runs. Across the Atlantic, there’s been more heavy snow in California and the Rockies and snow almost everywhere else too.
The ‘blips’? Well, it did rain up to about 1,700m altitude in parts of the Alps last weekend and it has been windy too…
